It's an interesting match-up to be sure, especially after the run and gun Blackhawks, to face a team that is built on defence first - full stop.
Normally, I might give the Preds a much better chance against Vancouver, but with Luongo's monkey off his back, I think he matches up well against Rinne, so I call that a draw. The defences . . . I'll call that a draw as well, both played well at times against very dynamic offences, but both also had off nights too. But at forward, Vancouver absolutely obliterates Nashville, and in terms of experience and intangibles, also a huge edge to Vancouver.
I say Vancouver in 6, maybe even 5, but all respectable scores. Nashville is too happy getting to the second round to have the same kind of motivation the Canucks have.

Rinne is capable of doing it, thats for sure. In the regular season, both teams won 2 games - and in both VAN wins, they came from behind late to win the game. Rinne also had one shutout against us.
Rinne will be the difference maker this series I think - if he gets super-hot, its going to be hard to beat him, he's that good. However, if he's mediocre or just OK, the VAN forwards will prevail.
Having 3 legitimate scoring threat lines will help the Canucks in this series, as NSH doesn't have enough top-flight dmen and forwards to cover them all. I expect the Sedin's to see an awful lot of Weber and Suter. |

Hot goalies can be difference makers for sure I have to agree with Slozo's post tho. The only way Nashville wins is if the Canucks don't show up and compete at their full potential. |

I say the Canucks in 5 but likely all 1 or 2 goal games. I just don't see any blowouts, but ya never know.
I'm guessing/hoping that the Sedin's start to play better and contribute more on the scoreboard. Having two deep defences in front of a couple of Vezina nominees tells me that ALL the games will be close, tight affairs. |
