None. Hall was bent over reaching for the puck so his head was waist high. He's going to get hit in the head. Edler wasn't throwing his elbow around and was expecting to get hit himself. Hall has to play smarter. I can expect a penalty. but no suspension. |

Forgive me as I have not read all the details of the new rules, however the principle and first contact was Edler's left elbow to Hall's helmet.
That is a head shot by definition, no???
That being said, Hall does have some responsibility in this as he was reaching and his head was at waist height. I don't know about a suspension on this one. |

2 game suspension, Hall should of kept his head higher however, when you are going into a corner your elbows need to be down.
Don't hate me because i'm Beautiful |

It would be more accurately stated as 'head' because there was no 'shot' therefore it can not be a 'head shot'. Hall is completely at fault. Edler is expecting a hit on him so he plays the body thinking this. Hall bends over at 90 degrees and Edler's elbow barely grazes his nose while still at his side. I think we should say that Hall gave Edler an 'elbow shot'....which we all know is very dangerous and can damage an unsuspecting elbow very seriously. Quick, call Shanny and get the studio ready for another excruciatingly boring video. |

Looks to me like Hall was forechecking with his head. I don't believe it should be suspension. Edlers penalty for Hall hitting his elbow with his head should be enough. If shanoban suspends Edler for that then it is officially a joke and the players might as well cut the blades of their sticks and use a ring instead of a puck. |

Lol, "Shanoban".
Been away all weekend so missed this hit and the other one, so i don't know if there's been a ruling yet?
I agree that Hall needs to be a little more careful, but what makes Edler look guilty is the fact that he jumps back towards the forchecker (Hall) AND contacts the head. I guess as someone pointed out, he was bracing himself for the hit, at which time it's not unusual for a dman to jump a bit in an effort to absorb some of the impact? Edler didn't even appear to be looking at Hall, but the key here, imo, is that Hall wasn't injured.
Still don't think it's correct, but i'm guessing no suspension, but there'd have been one if an injury resulted! |
