It's been a tough week for coaches!
In the KHL last week, star player Alexander Radulov appears to have deliberately slashed his goalie coach, but fortunately, the coach was not injured on the slash to his head.
Sabres coach Lindy Ruff was not so lucky though. Ruff suffered three broken ribs after colliding with Ville Leino in a practice drill yesterday.
Similar bad luck was felt by Oilers head coach Tom Renney yesterday, and also, during a practice. Renney missed the Oilers game against the Leafs last night, and ironically, it was the first game where the Oilers had all of their previously injured players back in the line-up.
Renney took a puck in the head during the morning skate (a wayward slap-pass from Andy Sutton), and needed to be stitched up. He must have been feeling woozy to miss last night's game behind the bench.
It's been a tough year for injuries, and it looks like players are not the only ones who have been affected by fluke injuries.
