Poll Question:
Who was the heart and soul of the late 80s/early 90s Bruins?

For the background to this one, see the exchange between fly4apuckguy and me in the "Sid get off your knees" thread

Choices:

Cam Neely
Ray Bourque
Cam Neely and Ray Bourque

When posting a poll, don't give an option for both. it will win everytime.

Go to that other thread for the exchange I had with fly4apuckguy. It explains the reason why I put both as an option. "Both" is actually the whole point of this thread.

Ray Bourque WAS the Bruins for two decades. Neely drove the boat for awhile.

Bourque was also very intense. But he showed it differently. It was a quiet intensity. "Intensity in ten cities". - Mike Myers.

By the way, the funny faces by the question are misplaced. I was trying to put a fourth choice in as Moe Lemay as a joke. The funny faces I was trying to put beside his name ended up by the question. Anyone remember Moe Lemay? Or do you have to be a long-suffering Bruins fan to remember a guy like Moe?

Anyway, as for the question, I think I actually would have agreed with a statement from fly4apuckguy like, "Neely was a bit more of the heart and soul of the Bruins than Bourque on those late 80s/early 90s teams", but even then, I'd say that it depended on the particular game, and that overall the "heart and soul" percentage rating couldn't have been much more than 55-45 in favour of Neely.
