Whats Penner going to get on the FA market this summer? If your a GM whats he worth to your team? I am going to be very interested to see what happens with this guy.
2012 not his best season, but really no one on the Kings did a whole lot (till these playoffs) and looking at penners 10 points in 14 games so far in the playoffs (no PP time) you gotta think he will get that 3-3.75 Million contract this summer??
Also wondering where you could see him going or will he stay put in LA?
Anyway this guy seems to be proving he's a big guy that puts up numbers in the playoffs...and what a good time to do it!

as much as Burke would probably like to sign him, I don't think he will. after he acquires Luongo (my prediction), he'll need to move some dead weight in order to make room for other signings. good luck with that.
i wouldn't be surprised if Penner ends up with Detroit. maybe replace a guy like Bertuzzi. Or even Nashville after they tell Radulov to take a hike. |

i can see penner going lots of places if he decides to sign with another team.
teams like winnipeg, montreal, carolina, dallas just as a couple examples
i personally think there are around 15 teams where he can make an immidiate impact on the team. |

Why would they not want to keep this team together? They have only Stoll, Penner, Parse, King, and Frasier as either UFA's or RFA's.
Penner, when motivated, it a killer. Even if he is motivated for only about 20 games a season ( and those games are in the playoffs) and the 20ish goals he can get, $3.5ish is not a stretch.
I liked the motivated Penner when he was in Edmonton. But Pancakes Penner is a hard feller to get excited about.

Carter Penner Richards line sure does look good, a lot like Geztlaf Perry Penner did the year the ducks won it all, i would try and sign him at a discount and keep that line together
