Didn't see the game but apparently the officiating was horrendous, highlited by the worst call of the game below. Safe to say, Shanny won't take long to make a judgement on this one....

Backes gets 5 and a game for a headshot that never happened! They really need to consider a review on game misconduct calls (video replay)....

Its too bad they cant take back the impact the call had on the game I really dont understand why theyre are so stubborn about letting refs make bad calls. Theres a thousand cameras on the game and everyone at home can see the good call so why cant someone upstairs just be like nope ref was wrong and not have a powerplay. I guess if they reviewed every play the games would drag forever. But its the same in baseball you have a digital image of the batters box and can see if the ball is a strike or not but they insist on letting the umps make bad calls.

A challenge flag maybe, Coach can challenge 1 penalty call per game but if the video replay does indeed show their was a penalty on the play it becomes a 4 minute double minor? just to prevent the coach from challenging a clear penalty just because it is at a key point in the game,

And yes a challenge call, maybe could cost a timeout just like in Football. Anyway the one above, Pasty must like that one. No wonder the Habs are doing so good

Yup, that was as bad as it gets!

I read somewhere that the usual end of season meetings will likely involve talks of a coach's challenge of some sort. Whether or not the idea will be voted in is the key! I'd like to see it, but the penalty would have to be more than just a TO as these aren't often used anyway. I think a minor penalty for delay of game would be good. When you think of it, most of the borderline calls wouldn't be challenged, just the real obvious ones. If a coach wants to challenge something that's not black and white, then the 2min minor would be good punishment!
