Who will be the next goalie to enter the Hockey Hall of Fame?

I think there's a good change they all get into the Hall.
All but Hasek are in the top 5 all time reg season wins. All are in the top 10 all time play off wins. All are top 20 all time reg season shut outs.
If I had to pick one to be the first, Bordeur. More decorated, higher up the ladder in terms of stats. Has a chance to be the most all time wins and shutouts in the reg season. More than likely won't catch Roy for playoff wins, but is #2. Cups and Vezina's.
He's the man.
Wayne or Bobby?? How about both!!! |

I'm guessing Belfour will retire first and consequently will be eligible first.

| I agree with Willus, Belfour will probably retire first, If not him then Hasek, both are in their 40's. The question was who will go NEXT. Brodeur will probably be the last of the bunch to retire. Most if not all of them will eventually go in. |

I would go with Brodeur as I believe he is the last of the standup goalies in the league, his record speaks for itself and he is probably in my opinion one of the most respected goalies in the nhl, players tend to have the fear factor shooting against him, he does not give them an inch to try and score and it seems like nothing fazes him. I think he would be the next goalie in the HHOF if he retires

Brodeur, and Hasek will both make the Hall of Fame on their first ballot.
Belfour will have to wait a while because of hs off ice antics, but will make it.
I really do not think that Joseph will make it, he never lead his team to the promised land...

Joseph was a great goalie there is no question about that. But there is nothing really special you can say about him. There is no real achievement that he has that stands out.
If Im not mistaken I think he is the only goalie there that has not won a Stanley Cup. Correct me if Im wrong.

You are not wrong.
I can't remember the year, but one of the ones when Joseph played with the Blues, he alone won a series for them. Maybe the best non-remembered series played by a goalie of all time. Then they lost out in the next round.
And that about sums up Joseph. Capable of excellence beyond belief, but didn't really do any one thing that makes you say YES! Hall-of Famer! |

But they lost the series. This is my point exactly. Great goalie, but with no major accomplishments like the other guys on the list have. Don't get me wrong, I like Cujo. He's the nicest guy on the list, and deserves whatever accolades come his way.
But not the HHOF, I'm afraid. |

It must have been early 90's, in the Edmonton Journal, there was a poll of hockey reporters and anylysts from across the country. They were asked to rate, on a scale of 1 to 10, the value of each NHL player to his team. You might remember this, Beans; CuJo came out on top! He was always loyal to his team, and ALWAYS much beloved in St. Lou, Oiltown, and T.O. Like a lotta' guys, he wanted some Cup action down the line. Sadly, it didn't work out for him. I think Joseph deserves a better legacy. No pun intended.
The Oil WILL make the playoffs. |
