I second Orr who was clearly robbed of the number 1 spot by less knowledgeable people than I.

Willus you beat me by about 20 second for me to second Orr.

That means I nominate Gordie Howe.

Hang on. I think MSC nominated Mario before Pucknuts. May I change my second, and nominate Maurice Richard?

We aren't forgetting this is the best after 1967 are we?

We had not started the nominations as of yet...

Maurice Richard did not play after 1967...

Ahem. Well, yes, gentlemen, I seem to have let my decorum slip somewhat. In keeping with the spirit of this thread, I choose to recant my previous nomination, and reiterate, with full heart, my seconding of Mr. Lemieux. Sorry for the mistake. At the same time, and I know this was mentioned earlier, I don't see how Howe could be included in this poll.

The Oil WILL make the playoffs.

No problem, I all ready had you down for Mario's second...

Howe can be nominated because he played after 1967, but only those years of stats, trophies, accomplishments, etc. should to be taken into consideration...

And I just think to keep things organized that we all wait to nominate, once I have posted that nominations are open...

I don't see Howe ranking very high on this list. I think there was some confusion during the first nomination process and that's why he ended up on the list of nominees.

I second Mark Messier and propose that we end the nominations there and just have Orr, Lemieux and Messier as the candidates for the second best player during the last 40 years.

I should clarify that I nominated Francis because I'm not sure if Howe's full career is allowed.

It has been discussed, and we are supposed to only look at the careers of players from 1967 on...

Here is the second round status. Let's get a move on fellas!

Bobby Orr (Beans) (Willus)
Howe (Patchy)
Mario Lemieux (Pucknuts) (OilinOntario)
Mark Messier (Patchy) (Andyhack)
Ron Francis (Leigh)

We currently only have 3 candidates for the second round. So if I am correct we can still nominate if the 2 that are currently nominated are not seconded yet.

Keep it rollin!

MSC, I mentioned it earlier but to keep some kind of control you will have to waite until the other round is completed, and the reults are posted...

I have a link in my signature to the updated information...

Left to nominate or second :

MSC, Irving, Fly4apuckguy...

MSC and Irving, not to be rude, pushy or ignorant, but hurry the hell up.

Also Pucknuts, I think Fly is gone. Shall we proceed without him.

I have no problem voting on the three...

Orr, Lemieux, and Messier...

I would hope that the members of the committee come here at least once per day...

Willus, not to be rude but try paying XXXXXXXXX attention. I made my nomination 3 days ago. And that's only because I didn't realize my first nomination Mario wasn't accepted.

Moderator Edit: No need for that kind of language.

The opportunity to be on the committee was open to all.
We are not including goalies in this list. We are doing a separate list for them. I think you should probably be on that panel when it happens.

Order or Ranking for Beans:

1) Orr
2) Lemieux
3) Messier

By the way, I think I should get Fly's vote. We are both Gretzky guys, so that should be two votes for every one vote from an Orr Guy (Andy and Willus).

Wayne or Bobby?? How about both!!!
