Posted - 07/23/2010 : 17:41:30 inside information - I heard Bob pulled his entire leftside abdominal muscle wall belching. Every time it gets close to healing, he drinks another case, so it could be awhile. |

See if any of your teams can get out of Edmonton with a W when the Original Hosers from the Great White North are sitting in the visitor's dressing room with a couple dozen cases of Canadian.
I don't care if you have Superman on your team, he can't even beat a PeeWee if he's tossed back a 2-4 before the Anthem.
I'll be waiting patiently for the Cup to be delivered to Edmonton.

Posted - 07/23/2010 : 07:37:59 Um, hello - conditioning? He's SUPERMAN, he's in peak form all the time. Seriously. Plans are that when the 3 stooges all go out with injuries because they clubbed each other over the head with their sticks, Sup will be the entire 4th line all by himself. While still pulling duties with the Sedin's.
Don Knotts - I believe VAN pursued him as well, but he was asking for Sedin money. A very crafty signing by MTL. How will he work his coloured scarves into the uniform though? |

Posted - 07/22/2010 : 22:29:37 yeah, well your Superman won't know what hit him after i sign Barbara Eden from 'I Dream of Genie'. With a little twinkle of her nose she can turn Superman into a puddle of goo, then with a quick slap pass to her linemate Don Knots, who'll bury it in the top corner. He might not look like much, but let me tell you, Don Knots is my real secret weapon, Barbare Eden just being a distraction. You just wait and see. |

Posted - 07/22/2010 : 22:16:42 well, if I can do trades and signings...
- sign UFA Superman to a 1 yr/450K contract, league minimum. He needs to work on his skating a bit, but he can hit like a freight train and can create havoc in front of the net - uses cape to block goaltender view Avery-style. If he can keep up with the Sedin's, its gonna be one helluva line.
- League creates new 10 minute misconduct for using laserbeams-from-eyes. NHLPA raises complaint that the rule is unfair as it targets a single player, arbitration pending.
- sign UFA Popeye to a 2yr deal in exchange for lifetime supply of spinach and Yaletown condo for him and Olive Oyl - value is 1.2M total (1.199 for the condo, the rest for spinach). Quick on the puck, not afraid to drop them when he has to, he'll make a good 3rd line grinder.
- Pickup Thing. Spent last year in KHL, but ready to make a comeback @ 1.5M. You think Volchenkov blocks shots and finishes checks... Currently working with Nike on special skate, they'll call it the Thingblade.
- bring 3 stooges out of retirement, sign to 900K deals. Best. Fourth line. Ever.
- trade Samuelson for a good Swedish restaurant - hey, when you have Superman, you don't need Sammy anymore, and Vancouver just doesn't have good Swedish food...
- trade Bieksa to MTL for Tinordi - yeah, its gonna happen! Gotta stock the cupboards, these superhero's don't last forever.
- accept Raymond arbitration hearing, 3.5M
- everyone else - down to the Moose! I hear Winnipeg is almost as nice as Vancouver in February...
Projected lineup:
Superman (450K) / Sedin (6.2M) / Sedin (6.2M) Burrows (2M) / Kesler (5M) / Raymond (3.5M) Popeye (600K) / Malhotra (2.5M) / Hansen (875K) Larry (900K) / Moe (900K) / Curly (900K)
Hamhuis (4.25M) / Ballard (4.5M) Thing (1.5M) / Edler (3.25M) Erhoff (3.1M) / Salo (3.5M) SOB (1.6M)
Luongo (5.25M) Schneider (900K)
Cap hit: 56.275M Cap space: 2.75 - enough to cover yearly injury to Salo.
Guaranteed Cup. |

Here is what I would do...
Trade Heatley 3rd round pick to St Louis for Pietrangolo and McDonald.
Trade Setoguchi,Murray 1st round pick to NYR for Marc Staal
Trade McDonald to Philly for Briere
Trade Vlasic 2nd round pick to Philly for Van Riemsdyk
Bury Huskins in minors
Sign Maxim Afinogenov to a 2 year $5 million dollar contract,$2.5 million a year.
Sign Denis Grebeshkov to 2 year $7 million contract,$3.5 million a year
Re-sign Vesce and Ortmeyer to a 1 year $550 thousand a year each.
Sign Marc Staal 10 year $45 million dollar contract,$4.5 million a year
Re-sign Jumbo Joe to a 7 year $56 million dollar contract $8 million a year.
I know I did alot of trades and signings but I cant stand the roster they have now so i made it better and it is under the cap by $1 million dollars.
And here are the new and improved San Jose Sharks.
