Uhhh...what was the topic of this thread again?
Alex, buddy, chill. You were never mentioned by name and the only inkling that anyone was referring to you, was the one you made.
If you haven't by now figured how to read Beans and Slozo, at least a little bit, that is not their issue. Much of what they type has an edge of wit and sarcasm, meaning essentially, that if you can't take the heat, the kitchen is not the place to be.
Just my perception of the multiple posts that have naught to do with what the original topic was. |

This has been way over analyzed. Every one seems to agree that what Rypien did was wrong. He was suspended six games (my opinion is that was too much). He did not sucker punch the fan for god sakes!!! It wasn't a kid or a lil ol lady!! Rypien is a hard nosed player, although he suckered the guy, he has never really done anything like this before. If you watch the guy, he is a good fourth line role player (it hurts me to admit this about any Canuck). I better go and get a Law degree to keep up with this post though...holy s***. |

FER.....It's ironic that this thread has multiple posts "naught to do with what the original topic was", because it all began with what i felt was Slozo choosing to call one of my posts a "typical homer defense". Now, keep in mind, that had nothing to do with the stuff that's been going on for most of "page 2". Perhaps i was disgruntled that he seemed to be ignoring my reply to what i felt was a ridiculous accusation (the homer thing) seeing as i was actually agreeing with him on the Rypien incident. THIS is where i got frustrated. I agree with him, he clearly couldn't have read my post correctly, i call him on it and he doesn't reply. SO, when later i'm lumped into a group he more or less refers to as lacking class, i get upset. My bad, that's where i should have let it go and i didn't. I apologize to everyone for that ("that" being, i didn't let it go). It then became a thread that prob should have been locked at that point?
Either way, i'm done with it. NO ONE is going to change my opinion of what Slozo meant in his "Ron Burgundy" post and NO ONE is going to convince me that Beans and he understood my posts early in this thread. I mean, i agree with Slozo that the suspension should be 10 games, that it's inexcusable, that it makes the Canucks look bad, etc., and THEN he calls me a homer? I can only imagine if i said he shouldn't be punished? THAT, is where my frustrations began.
In closing, that's all i'm frustrated about and again, i apologize to everyone for this thread becoming what it has (likely the most off topic thread this year) but i will not apologize for anything else.
Enjoy your weekend...... |

Gentlemen!!! Get back on topic please! All parties stop stirring the pot! No further discussion on who said what and how it was or should have been interpreted. This entire "non-topic specific" discusion has been blown way too far out proportion.
I sincerely apologize to all the members of pickuphockey.com who have actually bothered to wade through 2 full pages of nonsense (as I have just done) before it was put to rest. I only hope that you all realize that we are actually capable of keeping our threads on topic most of the time and we have some very good discussions here at the site (the last two pages not included of course)
Any off-topic comments or concerns about the deterioration and subsequent handling of this thread should be emailed to me and NOT posted inline. Posts of this nature will be deleted. Thank you. |

Now if anyone cares what I think about the Rypien topic, I believe that what he did was grossly inappropriate. However anywhere between 5 and 10 games seemed just. |

Correct me if I'm wrong, but this guy is threatening to sue for getting grabbed by the sleeve.
Does this not seem a little too mellow dramatic to you?
O.K. Polish Ex. I changed my signature.

Awesome One, there is no surprise that he is suing - American's are litigious by nature, and Rypien/Canucks/Wild all have deep pockets. He probably had to wade through a pile of personal injury lawyers as he left the stadium that night. |

True about the Americans, but I just think it's been really blown out of proportion. This may be wrong, but I think he is just tying to get his 15 minutes of fame with the sports media.
