Alex, I cannot believe that you took Foote - I was SURE that he'd fly under everyone's radar and I'd get him near the end...

I need a solid defensive dman as well, I'll take Derian Hatcher

Well, i know he's not flashy by any means but with the depth up front i have, a defensive presence can't hurt

BTW, D. Hatcher was gonna be one of my next two picks! Back to the drawing board!

I have been sweating this one out for a couple days now, thanks mostly to Mario's "Your Playoff 6" thread!!! How this guy is still available considering he's on almost half of the replies AND was arguably Canada's best dman at the 2010 Olympics, is amazing!

I will gladly select.....SHEA WEBER

Nice pick! I debated between Marleau and Perry, but i didn't want to see you have the Getzlaf / Perry duo since you already have the Sedin's! Had to go with strategy, even though i think Perry and Marleau, while bringing different qualities to the table, are about equal in value.

What about the whole "prime factor"? Hasn't Marleau had over 80 points like 4 times?

Nope, just twice, as well as a season of 78 and one at 71. Regardless, not trying to diminish his value at all. If i wasn't strategizing (by not wanting to see you with Getzlaf and Perry), i might have chosen Marleau instead, though i did want a winger and i love the physical style Perry plays.

Either way, the "prime" factor will be up to those voting i guess? As someone else mentioned, how do you measure prime on a guy like Perry who's prob not reached it yet? Do you assume he's going to get better? Who knows, maybe he's topped out and won't do better than he is currently??? IMO, the prime thing was more directed at the Lemieux's and Hull's etc who played only a handful of games post lockout or guys like Roenick who clearly played well past their prime. I have no prob with guys playing past their prime, if they love the game and can still compete, why not?

Again, what it comes down to is how the people voting view our teams. What if Cheechoo is chosen. Is his "prime" considered to be that one 90+pt / 50+ goal season? I mean, he did achieve those numbers. If i pick him, will people vote as though i got him THAT season? Dunno.....

It's up to the voters........

(guess we should be "chatting" in the other thread huh? )

yeah, seabrook was going to be my next pick as well...shame.

I'll finish off my defense with often overlooked and under-appreciated Daryl Sydor.
