Captain of the Blues Eric Brewer decided to waive his NTC and got traded to Tampa Bay for a third round draft pick and prospect Brock Beukeboom.

Thoughts?

good pickup for the TBL. They needed a good, defensive d-man.

I think this is a fantastic pick-up for TB, and frankly . . . pretty cheap, too.

I think he'll be great for the Lightning, and although he hasn't played a lot in the playoffs and it was a while ago . . . he is a solid competitor when it matters most. Does anyone realise that Brewer has an Olympic gold medal (2002 Salt Lake), 3 WC gold medals (03, 04, 07) and a World Cup gold medal (Toronto 2004)? Whenever he is in a tournament, he really excels . . . it bodes well for the playoffs, at any rate.

I actually am not sure what St. Louis was thinking here, other than Brewer asking to be traded and getting accomodated.

Great deal for Tampa: Hedman, Brewer, Ohlund, Bergeron, Kubina... their D is shaping up well for my predicted loooooooooong playoff run!

There was once a license plate in Toronto that abbreviated "Go Leafs" it read "Golfs".
