CHI should make the playoffs now, I don't think DAL or CGY will catch them for the last spot. However, they do seem desitned to finish 8th at this point, which sets up a first round matchup with VAN. Should be interesting.
Oh and Beans, I have settled on a Canuck for your essay...just say when you're ready to concede |

I hope they will win the cup, but my head is telling me that they won't. I know they kept the core intact, but losing the likes of Niemi, Byfuglien, and Ladd will hurt. Byfuglien and Ladd were built for playoff hockey, and I think Chi-town's gonna miss that grit those guys brought.
Also, Im not sold on our goaltending going into the post season, and I dont think Crawford is "this years Niemi"
However, it looks like we'll play Vancouver first, so at least we'll make it to the second round! ...in six games, I would think. |

Hopefully, Chicago will make the playoffs and then everyone starts from scratch. I think Crawford has been solid and every bit as good as Niemi. Their problem is the fact that their 2nd, 3rd & 4th lines aren't as strong as last year. I agree with a previous poster regarding Ladd & Byfuglien......they're sorely missed........I'll throw Versteeg in that category. If they can get a healthy Sharp & Bolland back, they have a legitimate shot to beat Vancouver or anyone else for that matter. |

mymy, I'm starting to wonder if they're even going to make the playoffs. DAL is now 2 points back, each have 3 games left. CHI plays STL and then back-to-back vs DET, ouch. DAL on the other hand, finishes the season with 2 against COL and one against MIN - there is a real chance that DAL could win all 3 of those, but I don't see CHI winning all 3 of theirs.
For tiebreaker purposes, CHI has 6 SO wins (so far), DAL has 5. Tight tight tight! |
