Living in the west, I haven't been exposed to Denis Potvin, who is the colour commentator for the Senators games with Sportsnet. With the playoffs underway, he's on the Sportsnet panel, and I've caught his contributions between periods in the Flyers-Sabres series.

Wow - I knew he was well spoken, but he seems to have picked up a golden voice since his playing days with the Islanders! (And there's no evidence of a French accent, which he had when he joined the NHL as a first overall pick out of Hull, Quebec, but that makes sense - he's lived in the states for almost 40 years.)

He appears to be a very good hockey analyst, but that should come as no surprise. He was an extremely intelligent hockey player (and Hall of Famer), and great team leader, always well spoken when interviewed.

Good to see him still involved in the game! After his playing career, he worked for the Florida Panthers for 17 years (in their broadcast booth), but they canned him last season. I'm glad Sportsnet picked him up. He understands the game very well, and his contributions (from my early observations) appear to be well reasoned and well delivered!
