I have said this for 25 years as a Devils fan, they never give us credit, and write us off all the time. We have gotten use to it. I hope for a good series

Who never gives the Devils credit? The team is stacked from head to toe. Just cause they are not the favorites don't mean they don't get credit.
It's obvious people are going to go with Kings over Devils unless there a Devil's fan. King's have only lost 2 in the playoff's and have not lost on the road. Where the Devils went 7 games with Florida, 5 with Philly and 6 with NY. Depth wise L.A. is stronger then any of the teams Jersey has beat. But Jersey has very good depth as well. Should be a good series. Jersey will probaly hand L.A. its first road loss. Still i'm going with Kings in 6. I rep that West!

I really didn't see this one coming. When the semi-finals were reached I was just sure the Rangers were bringing home the Stanley Cup. In spite of the fact that the Devils beat the Rangers I am picking the Kings in 7,but then my record in this years playoffs has been pretty abysmal, haha,

Did you hear about the retired proctologist? He spent 40 years saying "what's a place like this doing in a girl like you?"

If i had to put $$$$ on the line, i`d bet on LA in 7 games.......but i wouldn`t be shocked if NJ won in 6....one or the other i think.

Quick in unreal, but the Devil`s just beat Lunquist......oh well, flip a coin.

duke, you're playoff picks sound a lot like mine, Henrique, and Zubrus, Richards and Giarardi. But just tanked the west picks. I think Jersey is taking home one more cup this year, despite the kings domination of the west.

Kings in 5. Nothing against the devils. When you man handle the top seed and the second seed like the kings did, it's really hard to bet against that even against the best goalie the NHL has ever had. The size of LAs top 6 is incredible and I think the defensive system of NJ will fall apart because of that size. Either way, both teams deserve to be where they're at. Good luck to both!

I agree wholeheartedly with the above guest on the Kings size and strength on the puck in their top forwards. Other than Kovalchuk, the Devils cannot counter that. And, the Devils defence will be exposed here I think . . . and perhaps even Brodeur, although I wouldn't bet on that too heavily (he's getting better as the playoffs go on).

The only thing holding me back from being totally confident in the Kings is their experience at this stage . . . whereas on the Devils, you have some old warriors in Elias, Brodeur, Zubrus, and the mighty Ponikarovsky!

Ok, that last one was a joke. But all in all, I can't see the Devils breaking down a great goalie AND the great defence of the Kings as they did to the Rangers at times.

Good close games, but Kings in 6.

looking at what the Kings have done so far in the playoffs, it's hard not to pick them. and although as Slozo says they have no experience at this stage, there does come a time when experience means nothing and a team is just simply ready to make that next step. LA certainly looks to be there.
but the other side of me can't help but look back at when Detroit first made the finals back in '95 (against the Devils ironically enough). they had more or less waltzed through their conference just like LA has done this year, and looked poised to finally sip from the cup. yet surprisingly enough they were swept away in 4 quick games.
i'm not trying to compare the two teams, only the situation. confidence is a good thing, but it can also be your worst enemy. i like LA simply because of the way they've been so dominant thus far. but NJ seems to be on another one of their playoff runs. i'm gonna say Devils in 7, and just because it always seems to work out this way for us Leafs fans, I'll also predict that Ponikarovsky scores the OT winner.

I'm the above guest (was to lazy to make an account at the time lol). You're right Quick and that defense is no easy task as well. Brodeur is also being talked about a lot more (completely understandable) but I think this might be taking some pressure off Quick a little bit. The one thing I might disagree with you on is the veterans vs the youngsters. I think that this deep in the playoffs those veterans might have a little less jump than the young guns of the kings on the ice. Although the experience of the veteran Devils will help off the ice. It's tough to say if it'll play in favor for either side. I'm excited for this to get going though..thumbs down on the schedule!

L.A. kings have no Post-season Exp. my Ass,

-Colin Fraser/Dustin Penner/Justin Williams - All have a Ring
-Simon Gagne(not that he matters but he might be back) - 105 Games played in playoffs
-Mike Richards - 63 Games played in playoffs
-Rob Scuderi - 61 Games played in playoffs
-Willie Mitchell - 51 Games played in playoffs
-Jeff Carter - 47 Games played in playoffs
-Jarret Stoll - 40 Games played in playoffs
-Brad Richardson - 21 Games played in playoffs
-Drew Doughty - 17 Games played in playoffs
-Jonathan Quick - 12 Games played in playoffs
Everyone else on the team had either 6 games played in the playoffs last season or this is their first playoffs. Now add 14 games played this playoffs. Don't forget the coach who has 51 Games played in the playoffs. Also Richards/Carter/Stoll have all been one game away from a ring. Now explain to me again L.A.'s lack of playoff experience.

Slozo, wouldn't the Rangers D be considered better than the Kings? Doughty's playing great, esp when he avoids his tantrums, but a lot of the credit he gets for his game is on the offensive end. Not saying he's not good defensively, but Girardi, Mcdonagh, Staal and Del Zotto have got to be considered a better top 4 than LA dresses, no? Goalies are pretty much a wash, even if Quick's got better numbers, right? I mean, King Henrik is the guy 99% of the world seems to pick as the current "best goalie in the league".

I'm not saying the Kings are gonna lose, though i am picking that , as this series should be very interesting. Game 1 is HUGE, as it always is. If LA can win it, watch out! These guys have been unreal away from home. But if NJ can hold serve and win their home games, there'll be a ton of pressure on LA to answer back on home soil.

Well, when comparing D, Doughty is a better overal player than any Ranger's defenceman, I'd say. And Willie Mitchell has looked fantastic this playoffs, and this Voynov kid looks very good too. That being said, for top 4, on paper the Rangers probably edge out the Kings, yes.

But in terms of performance . . . did the Rangers do anything remotely close to what the Kings have done this year? Shutdown one of the top offenses in the league in Vancouver; shutdown the very big and disciplined Blues; and shutdown a fairly scrappy team in Phoenix, all teams ranked 1, 2 and 3? Obviously not.

I think LA just has to avoid this long lay-off rust that might have set in a bit, and they will come out with an awesome road game and take game 1 as usual (these playoffs).

Didn't clarify perhaps - my contention wasn't that they have no playoff experience, but that they are a bit short in experience for actually playing in the finals and winning the cup, That's all - nothing more than that really, and it was a minor point really.
