How anyone can vote for anything but Vancouver is beyond me. President's trophy winner, out in 5 in round 1 to an 8 seed? Sure, likely the best 8 seed ever who in the end won it all, but still the expectations after last years run to the final make this an easy pick for me.

With Pitt being a huge favorite to get to the final and maybe win it, i can see them getting some votes, but it's pretty clear to me that Vancouver should run away with this poll.

I hear you Alex but it is hard to vote for any team that LA beat in the first 3 rounds. Vancouver and St Louis specifically should have won, but they did lose to the eventual champs.

I vote for Pitt. That team had the same number of wins as the Canucks and were finally healthy at the end of the season. For them to play such strong team defense through the regular season only to allow that many goals against was horrible.

Pitt was the biggest disappointment for me.

Daniel Alfredsson is the MVP of the universe. All hail the Ottawa Senators!!!!!

I hear you too Alex, and don't get me wrong . . . a president's trophy winner going out in the first round with a whimper is huge, for sure.

But - we must look at these things in retrospect. And, looking at it in retrospect, we must remember that Pittsburgh was actually the odds-on favourite for the cup before the playoffs started - most probably because of a supposedly weaker easter conference, and Vancouver having gone final last year working against them actually. And, they had a healthy Crosby back in the line-up, basically 2 mvp's on their team. And, even more importantly . . . LA kicked butt, and they were clearly the best-ever 8th placed team, by far . . . and I was already saying BEFORE that series that LA was one of the most stacked 8th placed clubs I had ever seen (remember when slozo called that upset? ) Anyhoo, when we examine in retrospect the expectation that Pittsburgh would make the final, coupled with Vancouver's much more difficult (at least perceived, anyways) road . . . you have to pick Pittsburgh.

I still think it's shocking - 4th seed or not - that a team with Crosby, Malkin, 40 goal man Neal, Letang, and a former cup winner in Fleury could bow out in the first round against a team with an extremely leaky Bryzgalov in net. Absolutely shocking.

On the other hand . . . with a goalie like Quick in net, and with their top goal scorer Daniel Sedin out . . . it's not like anyone couldn't see the possibility of Vancouver losing to LA.

No, the more I think about it, the easier it is to pick: Pittsburgh in a walk.

Boston anyone? the defending cup champs loseing to a 8th seed that squeaked in on the last day of the regular season. Loseing to a team with only 3 20 goal scorers and only 2 players who scored over 50 points in the regular season. With their third string goalie with only 20 some games of NHL expirence? In my mind hands down Boston is the biggest dissapointment.
The Canucks lost to a goalie who put up the absolute best numbers any goalie has ever put up in that long of a playoff run. A team that player for player matchs up as good if not better than the Nucks.
As for the Flyers and Pens the only advantage pittsburgh had on Philly in my mind going into their series was goaltending. (that really didn't work out) Sure the pens have Neal, Malkin, Crosby, Staal but after that their is a steep drop off. Personnally i would take Giroux, Briere, Voracek, JVR, Couturier, Simmonds, Schenn and Jagr any day over the Pens top 9

Anybody with ability can play in the big leagues. But to be able to trick people year in and year out the way I did, I think that was a much greater feat.

I voted Penguins because they played further below their potential than the others.

Did you hear about the retired proctologist? He spent 40 years saying "what's a place like this doing in a girl like you?"

Good points all around really. The question is a little vague in fact as it say's "who had the most unsuccessful playoff run?" which really one cannot argue that it was Vancouver as they were eliminated by the lowest possible seed in the fewest games. However, i can tell everyone, myself included, is answering it more as which team was most disappointing in their playoff run and i think for me, the reason i picked Vancouver is thinking after round 1 only. It's easy to look back now that LA went all the way and say "Vancouver lost to the eventual cup champs (AGAIN!!!)" but if you asked me after the 1st round was complete, it'd def be the Canucks.

Pasty, the Bruins were actually the 2 seed, and by div winner only. They were tied for 4th in the conference (with NJ) in points actually and were only 10 points clear of the team they lost to (Wash). Compare that to the Canucks who were not just 16 points better than LA during the season, but had 11 more wins! (Goes to show you how that OTL pt keeps things close!)

Slozo/Beans.....i can see the Pens being picked too, i just don't think that Philly was ever considered to be an easy route. Not saying LA was, but let's face it, had the Kings played like they did for 80% of the season, it'd have prob been a 4-1 series the other way with the Canucks moving on! Sure Sedin was missing, but the talk around the league was that the Canucks would be able to get by the Kings without him and welcome him back for round 2. I heard very few people comment that they were in trouble without Daniel vs LA. Let's not forget, the Canucks went 8-1-1 down the stretch without Daniel and were the hottest team going into the playoffs!

Either way, fair points all around. But i'm sticking with the Canucks, and that's not just cuz of my disappointment either.

BTW Slozo....i'm a gambler and the site i use (and others i saw) had the Canucks and Pens at the same odds to win the cup.
