Did you hear about the retired proctologist? He spent 40 years saying "what's a place like this doing in a girl like you?"

How in the hell did they think the Atlantic Ocean ran from Detroit to Ottawa all the way down to Florida?!?

Geographically, it makes no sense. Clearly, historically, with the NY/Pennsylvania teams formerly being in the Atlantic, it makes zero sense. And in terms of any kind of association whatsoever, other than the two Florida teams, it makes zero sense.

Man did the NHL screw this up bad. I smell a re-name petition coming!

Metropolitan division is also pretty bad . . . but at least if the NY area teams plus Penn state and Carolina/Wash were called Atlantic, it would've made SO much more sense . . . and then at least call the Ont/Que teams plus Detroit, Boston and Florida the Metropolitan teams. OR, going with their geographical theme, the "mid-east", or hell, the Appalachian division, I don't frickin' know .. . anything other than what they did!

It's total nuts, lunatic fringe thinking.

I predict the backlash is so strong, that it's changed by next year.

Just got my season tix package for the Canucks, and noticed, for the first time in a very long time they play a non-conference team in an exhibition game - NYR. Cool.

I had a quick look at the Rangers schedule, thinking they must start their season on the road in the west this year, and boy do they ever - 9 straight games on the road through the west and central division. They don't play their first home game until nearly November.
