Committee Members...
1.) PuckNuts
2.) willus3
3.) Beans15
4.) OILINONTARIO
5.) MSC
6.) irvine
7.) PainTrain
8.) andyhack
9.) leigh
10.) Patchy

1.) For a player to be nominated he must have played in 1967-68 or later, and only his stats, and accomplishments from this time should be included in you voting.
2.) We will start with round 1 the #1 player, and so on until we reach 50 or so, lets see how far we can go.
3.) Each committee member may nominate, or second a player only once for each round.
4.) Up to 5 players can be nominated for each round. When a player is nominated, and then seconded, he will be added to the vote list.
Ex. Beans15 nominates Gretzky, willus nominates Orr, Pucknuts seconds Gretzky, andyhack seconds Orr. and so on until there are 5 players…
5.) I will list the 5 players as nominated, and then each of the members will rank the players 1-5 in a post. (As a committee member it is very important not to look at the other members rankings, before you place your vote).
6.) The point system will be as follows. 1st – 10, 2nd - 7, 3rd - 6, 4th - 5, 5th - 4.
8.) Ties will be broken as follows most 1st place votes, if still tied then 2nd place votes, etc.
9.) Any player nominated, and lost in a particular round can be nominated for the next round.
10.) It will be important that nominations, seconds, and the submitted votes are not edited, so be careful, and remember to login before you make any posts.

Note: Goalies will be done at a later time.

I nominate Mario. I don't know if those who were not previously committed should be currently involved. Am I wrong?

The Oil WILL make the playoffs.

Quick Recap:

Gretzky Nominated by Leigh, second by Pucknuts
Bobby Orr nominated by Willus, second by Andyhack
Mario Lemieux nominated by Oilinontario, second by MSC
Mark Messier nominated by Beans.

Either 2 more players or a second for Messier and 1 more player to complete round one.

Puck, to get this straight, once the 5 players are in, are we ranking them 1-5 or are we voting for who it the best of the 5. Then, 5 more and take one kind of thing.

Sorry, I am from Alberta so I'm a little slow......

Wayne or Bobby?? How about both!!!

Change my nominations to Gordie Howe.

Couple things. What about Gordie Howe, would he count in this list. And also could I let's say be the third person to vote on one particular player. Example. Willus and AndyHack have both voted Orr, could I be another one to vote for him?

Actually I do see a problem, there could be a lot of ties. I have been playing with some of the numbers, and found a better voting system.

Place Points
1 - 10
2 - 7
3 - 6
4 - 5
5 - 4

and we either vote on 4 players in each round, or add one more member to the committee. If there are any ties, the tie breaker would be the number of 1st place votes, and then 2nd, and so on.

If we decide to use this point system it would be the higher points wins...

Let me know what you guys think.

Personally I think voting on only four players will be the best way to go.

I don't necessarily agree with everything I say.

PuckNuts I think you should do the higher one. Another problem is let's say I have to leave somewhere for a whole week it would be a problem for the voting because that's one less member.

Is this just for the top 3, at this time?

If not, I'll nominate Ray Bourque. If this is top 3 only, at this time, I'd like to retract my nomination from the ballets. :P

Irvine

Sorry, I read the first posting a little better. And I understand this is the top 3. So, I will retract nominating Bourque at this time.

As I saw some issues with the voting, and ties I would like to welcome Patchy, and the voting has changed, please read the updates on the first post.

PainTrain you cannot edit your post, you seconded Messier...

4 players so far on the ballot.
Orr
Gretzky
Lemieux
Messier

One more to be nominated.
irving, fly4apuckguy, and Patchy you guys are up to either nominate, or second...

Hi irving, it is important that posts for nominations, and votes are not edited. Paintrain had seconded Messier, then edited his post to nominating Howe.

So Messier is already nominated, and seconded.

Each round we do is for one position at a time.

We on the first position.

irving, fly4apuckguy, and Patchy can nominate a player, or second one...

Of coarse you know that this means war!

I think from all his posts we know that Flyguy would rank Gretzky Number 1, so how about giving some quick time limit and if he doesn't post just count it as a Gretzky vote - which would clinch the Number 1 position for Gretzky if it's not already clinched.

Maybe we don't even need the time limit. He definitely would vote for Wayne as Number 1.
