| I would definately play marty tonight against the germans to get his legs back before the russia game....i am a huge fan of lou and fleury but i just dont think either of those two can come up big against the russians...not like marty anyways. not playing marty tonight against germany could be a huge mistake because in my opinion we need marty to be in net against the russians and we dont want him rusty for the game. as for defense still think green and phaneuf should have been there... |

I said before the tournament started that we should go with Brodeur until he proves otherwise. Well IMO he proved otherwise on Sunday night. Not saying it was 100% his fault. Simplay saying that he didn't have his best game. Now its Luongo's to lose.
To me the game came down to two goals: the one scored less then a minute into the game; and the one scored 20 seconds after we tied it up. Those kinds of goals take the wind out of your sails.
Oh ya, and taking those penalties liked we did in the last minute of the 2nd, and the beginning of the 3rd also didn't help much either.
But I will say this.....every other team in the tournament is scared s***less of us because we still haven't played our best game. Now is the time when Canada gets it together.

| For FK sake Beans give it up about Miller...we all know Miller was outstanding, but he did GIVE UP 3...that is 3 goals. Miller didn`t single handed beat Canada...WE SCORED 3 GOALS !!!!!!....Brodeur was CRAP !!!...thats why we LOST |

Easy boy, easy....no need to freak out! I think what Beans was/is trying to say is that if Miller didn't play as well as he did, we win that game even if it meant winning it 7-5. I'm afraid i agree with him.
Yeah, Marty gave up more than he should have, but Miller made a whole bunch of excellent saves that if he's not on his game, would likely have been goals.
Maybe saying that Miller is the ONLY reason is a bit strong but i think it's meant more as a figure of speach? |

Brodeur made some good saves ... Yes
Brodeur made some mistakes that turned into goals... Yes
Miller stole the game... Yes (especially the last half of the third period)
Miller played the best performance in all the olympic goalies ever... Sorry but no
Hasek (5 shoutout saves, and then a shutout to win gold) and Gerber was good examples and like guest 2000 said Hiller made some brilliant saves this year against Canada. And didn't Tretiak made the HOF base on international play, I know it wasn't just Olympics but still.
Most of us agree before the tournament started that Brodeur was the starter until he proved otherwise, well he now did and it's time to give Luongo a chance. I'm glad Luongo is in net tonight vs the Russians. |
