We pick any team ever and then pick 12 forwards 6 defenseman and 2 goalies who have played since the lockout.
1. Canucks Man- Canucks
2. Beans- ? I assume the Oilers
3. Awesome One- Lightning
4. Nuxfan- Atlanta Flames
5. Toxxik- bruins
6. Doublechamp- Penguins
7. Alex- California Golden Seals
8. Semin Rules- stars
Let's start picking in that order
There was once a license plate in Toronto that abbreviated "Go Leafs" it read "Golfs". |

like we don't need 2 lw or centers. Just 12 forwards, 6 d and 2 goalies. You could have all centers if you wanted !

BTW, one more thing.....i'm assuming that when you pick a guy, it's not for them "today" but for them in their prime? For example, if you pick a guy like Roenick, he will be judged as he played in his prime, not as he played in SJ in his waning years? |

I think what he meant was Roenick played post lockout, so he is eligible, but will he be judged on his prime, which i would say yes, all players should be judged based on their primes

Guys don't mean to interrupt but i saw nothing on how the draft order itself will work? I am presuming that Semin Rules gets both the 8th & 9th pick or are you going back to the bottom where # 1 always gets first pick of the new rd? Something you may want to clarify to make your lives easier and the outcome a little more balanced. BOL Gents

I'll replace him with one caveat: if Beans chooses to, he can take my place if he wants to at any time during the drafting process.
But, since Beans isn't picking right now, I'll pick a player he loves to criticize .

Too bad I missed this before it got started. It would have been interesting to participate.
I'll have to join Beans (elite company! ) on commentary from the sidelines.
As a corollary - I was thinking of trying to organize this sort of thing and seeing if people were interested in running a season over at "What if Sports" (upside, it let's you draft any player, any season, and you can set up salary caps etc, downside it costs$) - Still, if there's any interest at all I can make a new thread for it and organize. (Edit: Here's a sample of what each game turns out, there are of course rules, cap space, etc that's customizable within the league structure) - > I ran the 83-84 Oilers vs. the 76-77 Habs (Habs were on home ice). >https://www.whatifsports.com/nhl/boxscore.asp?GameID=1380091&teamfee=-1
