Big thanks to Beans for both making my pick in my absence as well as suggesting my next pick "the Bulin Wall". Certainly can't hurt to have a goalie with a Stanley Cup ring on your roster now can it?  |

Def not a shot at the Oilers. Just throwing it out there that i picked a guy who's won the big one before. Never know when it comes down to voting, this could go a long way, so just simply pre-reminding (is that a word?) voters of how good this guy was in his prime! |

Tox.....brilliant pick. I thought about him right after i picked my last one and before DC took Brind'amour and was gonna ask if i could have a redo so i could grab him!

Could i have made a trade to enable myself to get a higher pick? For example, could i have traded my next two picks for one better one or will we have no extra players? Or could i trade my next two for a higher one with that person's last pick thrown in? Follow me?
ex. i propose to trade you my next two picks (71 & 74) overall for your next pick (62 & whatever your last pick is)? That way you'd have your first selection in the next round (67) and my two (71 & 74), in exchange, i get an earlier selection if i figure a guy i want (ex. Andreychuk) is going to be gone before my next pick? |

I'd say no, the draft is already complicated enough seeing as how I have to rush to get the picks and calculate how many Goalies, Defensemen and Forwards each team has.
After the draft we will be able to swap players though.

Well, then we'll have something to do in the off season! 
Then again, a lot of the "current" guys are starting to go, maybe this will speed it up? Then again, i guess it's more a problem of some people not being "on" here as frequently as some of us?

Ya true, but, 20 players each by 8 = 160 picks. I think we're at 62.
It'll be long, but you could be right, it may pick up. I'm not going to mention when Beans got bounced for taking to long, just saying. |

I think its more of a time-zone issue:
I'm from out west, and I usually post during evenings, so I always see what Alex,nuxfan, canucks-man post fairly quickly, but don't see easten posters picks till well after they have picked. I do check in during the day (ie right now) but not regularly. |

From experience, these things take an extremely long time. The GOAT draft a few years ago started on Mar 2 and was not done until Apr 30th.
What's the rush??? |

I was just wondering, will my team (Penguins) determine how "good" the team is in voting? Because if it doesn't, I (if I can) would like to change it as I thought it kind of determined how good the team was

No the outcome of the vote will be based solely upon your players, coach and GM.
The purpose of teams was just so we could name them.

Doesn't matter, you could even have the Jets if you want.

Hey, not slighting your pick whatsoever, i liked Numminen and always thought of him as an under rated guy!
As for Zhamnov, i remember his first couple years and all the talk that he'd be a 100pt guy. Never really materialized but was still a pretty decent player. |

Looking at the first hundred and with 7+ picks to go for each guy this appears to be a 3 man race. Interesting to see over the course of the final picks which individual gives themselves a slight edge.

I would say Nuxfan & Alex are the front runners with AO barely trailing. CM is close but i would still throw him in 4th for the time being. Obviously, my opinion is insignificant however; just from browsing that is what I see and i think you would be hard pressed to find anyone who could argue that Nuxfan & Alex are not the front runners.

AO, if you read again I said your barely trailing. What Lemieux gives you in an additional push towards the Front Sakic & Jagr basically push you back closer to the pack and your talking to a guy who grew up idolizing Lemieux. Stamkos Green Backstrom & even Getzlaf are great right now but overall could be relatively insignificant as you mentioned this draft style is based upon guys in their prime. None of the above has yet to reach their prime and hopefully not any could get constant injuries and then there is never a prime to speak of. Ryan Miller compared to Hasek do you really want to argue that? Based upon guys who we know what there primes have been your Lemieux, Robaltaille Niewendyk and Roberts fall short of Sakic Hull Hasek Chelios Roenick Heatley Gonchar and even Cujo. You made the rules of judgement in their prime and I am never one to assume anything as you know how that can turn out. You can willingly disagree but based upon the rules in play half of your teams is will they continue this stellar play or will they sadly get injured and never become as great as we thought. Where as NuxFan is already WOW we remember what they did and how great they where.
