Sorry guys, i'm actually out of town for a week but i'll be checking in mostly every day? Yesterday was travel day!
Without further ado, i'm shaking my head (as is Beans) that this guy is still available, even though i need a Canadian really badly, i cannot take a chance that PAVEL DATSYUK will still be around a couple picks from now when i go again! |

I just hope I can read your mind Alex and steal you next pick(s), because it's twice you've taken players I wanted.
Ridiculous. |

I am shocked that 30 picks have come and gone and yet two of Belfours former teammates and surefire hall of famers have yet to be chosen. Obviously, i cannot state who they are as i do not want to interrupt the draft

Cannot believe Sergei Zubov & Malkin got picked above two of Belfours former teammates that still remain undrafted

Not saying Malkin is a bad move Nuxfan but longterm when judging prime as malkin (hopefully not) may never be the player he could of been is he as valuable as one MATS SUNDIN????

Sorry, but i have kept my mouth shut on Roenick Chelios & Sundin for a week now and to see Roenick & Chelios finally taken and Sundin sitting there while a player like Zubov has been taken is a little mind boggling on my behalf. Quality player but never the claibre of the top 3.

Mario, never liked Roenick, regardless of his play. Mats Sundin played for the Leafs, and I've been forced by the CBC to watch way too many leafs games to want to have him on my team.
As for Chelios, I can't fully appreciate his play, I'm too young to have seen him in his prime, I wasn't paying attention to hockey that much in his final years in Chicago; I only watched him play hockey in Detroit.
So I was severely swayed by one statistic: Zubov 1068GP, 771Pts = .72PPG, while Chelios had 1651GP, 948GP = .571PPG.
I missed getting Lidstrom by 1pick(would have taken Lidstrom instead of Leetch, had I the chance), and I was hoping Chelios would still be unnoticed by the time my next pick rolled around.
My team now consists of Ovechkin,Malkin,Brodeur,Zubov,Leetch. 3/5 are HHOF quality, while Ovie and Malkin will be too if they can avoid injuries and maintain the same level of play for the rest of their careers.
Besides, I was going with a predominantly Russian theme, and my team is 3/5 russian! |

Lol PE not sayin Malkin is a bad pick h*ll if he manages to stay healthy he may surpass the above players point totals as he is still only 24yr of age and i am always on board with a penguin being chosen . I have never liked Roenick either but for a in the prime being type of draft i am sure his chelios & Sundin's value are greater then Malkin for this current moment. Either way not directed at you totally just figured when i said about Belfour's two former teammates that Chelios & Sundin where on your mind. Thus, the shhhh regardless all the best with the picks

Mario, keep in mind that we have to pick positions - not just the best player available period. While Zubov might not have been the best overall player, when you have to take a certain number of dmen, you need to forgo some good forwards to pick them up when you can. That being said, Zubov had a great career, and was .75 ppg in over 1000 games manning the DAL PP. I liked Chelios better, mainly for the longevity and tenacity he brought to the game.
As for Roenick and Chelios (both of whom I now have, thank you very much), I was perhaps counting on others not idenitifying them as eligible or forgetting about them. There are a few good players that only played bit parts after the lockout who had great careers through the late 80's and 90's, and they are both great examples.
And finally, why do so many people get me and Alex mixed up? I'm starting to wonder if we do look alike...
My poll currently consists of: Sakic, Hull, Hasek, Chelios, Roenick. Definitely going with the "90's all star" theme! |

Honestly, saw that i made the mistake after the post and new you guys where aware of who i was talking to. When i looked at the draft initially i was shocked to see Lemieux went third and new from then on either guys where not thinking old school or where two young two remember how good some of the older guys where in their primes. Obviously, your Lemieux's & yzerman's are exceptions as they are notorious to the game. As far as Zubov by no means a bad pick but with the way this draft appears to be going with Stamkos after 1.5yrs of stellar play and not in his prime yet becing picked so early Sundin could of been stolen and then draft young dmen like..... as there credentials are about the same as Stamkos where Sundin was always the what if guy (solid winger around him) that managed to will the leafs to victory

You are probably picking the best as of now, i thought I'd be able to get most of those guys!
I've got Lemieux, Stamkos, Robataille, Nieuwindyk, and Roberts. Plus I still have a few underrated options in mind so at the moment I'm kind of going with the forwards theme!

Gotta watch doublechamp. He's got his goalies: belfour-luongo!
That's a deadly tandem.
Then again, with only 8 people choosing, we are all bound to have goaltenders in that elite stratosphere.
@Mario66:
About the Lemieux thing, I had a homer simpson "doh!" moment when Lemieux was chosen, since I forgot he played after the lockout. I'm disgusted with myself at that one. |

Really Toxx, Lucic?
I know of two better players and I am sure Nux will get the 1st one and then I'll scoop up the 2nd one (his companion).

I echo awesome one: Lucic, really?
I wouldn't even put him in the same hockey rink as most of the players already chosen!
There's my two-cents, I hope you don't take offense to my comments Toxxik. Your pick must mean you are a devout Boston fan, especially of Lucic. |

Wow, 218 comments, and a grand total of...wait for it....
2 negative ones! Anyways, the real point of this is to determine a winner through the use of many, elaborate, head-to-head user polls.

Hey gang, i'm travelling home today :( and not counting on the Mexican airport to have internet connection so i may be missing in action till sometime tomorrow. Hopefully by the time i sleep in it's back around my next picks?
Anyhow, for now, seeing as i pick very soon, i've emailed Beans a small list of guys so he can pick for me and keep this thing rolling.
I'll catch up with it tomorrow......

Lucic isn't a top 50 currently. How he can be top 50 with all those others players available boggles the mind? You want size, there are about 10 other guys unpicked that have done more and have pretty decent size to boot. Again won't give away any names but get over your man-crush. |

Toxx, no one has to sign up if they don't want to. Nor does anyone (guest, member, or moderator) have the ability to tell someone else to 'sign up or shut up.' Everyone on PUH has an equal voice.
I did get a message from Alex and have a list of players he is looking at. Please let me know if his pick comes up today and I will do my best for him. Even if he is a Canucks fan. |

This is an online forum, no contracts signed here when we started this draft, I think we should be able to wait a little. (Though nobody was very patient with you, were they beans?)
BTW, I'm open to suggestions on picks Beans, if you're so keen on helping Alex. So far I have this team: Forwards: Ovechkin, Malkin, Zetterberg Defenseman: Leetch, Zubov, Blake Goalies: Brodeur

Polish, I am only helping Alex as a go between. I am not really making the pick for him as much as I have a list of players he wants and will pick for him for the sake of keeping the draft moving.
If you want, I can send you an e-mail with some players I see that have not been drafted that I would pick but looking at that team I really don't think you need any help. |
