Not sure if this is the right location for this type of post, so my apologies. Also, not sure if this has already been done either, but.... If you could have a match between 6 players (1 G, 2 D, 3 FWs) who are currently active, and who have played 10 seasons or more against players who are still active, who have played less than 10 seasons. Who would you like to see, and who do you think would win? - I guess you could include the current season. And the older guys are at todays level of play, not when they were at their best.
I'd like to see: Old Guys: - Sakic - Jagr - Sundin - Niedermayer (Scott) - Lidstrom - Brodeur
Newer Guys: - Kovolchuk - Lecavalier - Gaborik - Kaberle (Tomas) - Chara - Luongo
I think the new guys would win, even though I would want the old guys to win

I think the old guys would win, you didn't stack the new guys at all! What about Spezza, Crosby, Heatley...? The team you made would not work well together. And even at its best young, I think the older team is much smarter and would take it.

What would your teams be?

The definition is too easy, 10 years doesn't make you old, or young
Kovalchuk - Goal scorer Crosby - Set up man Lecavalier - All around Rafalski - Two way D Kaberle - Two way D Luongo
Iginla - Power forward, as most people seem to say Alfredsson - All around Sundin - Good shot, puck control Zubov - Quiet but deadly, leading the NHL D-Men in points Lidstrom - Best plus minus in the NHL Brodeur
By the rules, these teams are old vs. young. Really?

10 years doesn't make you old or young. Granted. However, it does make you more experienced. Perhaps I should have said more experienced against less experienced. But I was lazy and didn't want to do all that typing....now look what you made me do!
Gaborik over the Kid any day! I don't need some snot-nosed whiner on my team!

Did you realize you just picked Zubov ahead of Pronger and Niedermeyer?
Remove Sundin and put Thornton in the centre. The other picks are solid.
I'd for the "youngster", I have a small forward line and I have a big forward line. Defense and Goalies are unchanges.
small Crosby, Ovechkin, Gaborik (all ~6' or less and less than 200lbs)
BIG Kopitar (or Getzlaf), Heatley and Kovalchuk (all 6'2"+ and more than 210lbs)
Defence Phaneuf, Chara
Goalie Luongo |
