Im thinking Doughty is playing his way on the team right now. Green would be my second choice and its close.

I voted for Doughty because I think that Boyle will be on the team regardless. Pronger, Niedermeyer, Bouwmeester, Keith, Boyle, Seabrook I would say are the top 6.

7th D man will probably get like 5 mins a game....against the crappy round-robin countries. So the difference is negigible to nothing. I could be the seventh D man and it wouldn't change the team one iota. People need to stop nit-picking the roster so much, Canada could field a 'b' team and win two medals.

Green 100%, Boyle is on the team definitely. Doughty for 2014, will be a cornerstone in the team as well but for now I believe he is gonna miss out. Green will be a PP specialist and thats it, defensive liability.

Couldn't agree more Boyle is definately a lock, Green will be a specific powerplay guy and will play 8-10 minutes a game depending on the score and amount of penaltys the opposition takes. Green is a point per game defenceman and would be lethal on the powerplay. Totally agree about Doughty as well he's playing well and in the future will be a staple on Team Canada.

There's a lot of dirty old occ's around thats the problem

Well it was kinda hard to pick but had to go with Green, He plays extremely well with Washington, (Semin,Backstrom,Ovechkin.) So I think he will do fine if he is on Team Canada. Right now the chances of Doughty being on Team Canada is 50/50.

The only thing with picking Green is, he's had just one great season in the NHL thus far. I do believe he's going to be a good offensive D-man i the league for years to come, but we don't know a lot about him yet.

If Canada (Yzerman and company), pick based on current perfomance, then Green may be on the team. If they pick on history, and what players have done in the past (not just the past two seasons), we may see Boyle there.

I personally, would be picking based on a mix of history and current performance, with the elders of the players. But, with new comers, like Schenn, Green, Doughty, i'd have to go with my gut and their current perfomance only.

That being said, I think we may see Green as the seventh d-man, mainly because they will want a guy to QB the PP when needed, also they will need a good offensive d-man to help get pucks to the net, when down by a goal.

I disagree I think the seventh defenceman will see plenty of powerplay time even during critical games

You miss 100 percent of the shots you don't take Wayne Gretzky
