I just wanna know how the OP came up with this list??? I mean, Crosby, Ovechkin, Malkin, etc are all there (the top scorers) and as a Sharks fan, he's thrown in a few top SJ guys in Marleau, Thornton and Heatley, but where the heck do Laraque, Shelley and Vorocek fit in this list? Really shouldn't be a poll, should have just asked us our favorite player?
Well, i'd love to say Burrows just piss people off, but i'm gonna surprise some by not taking a Canucks. Jarome Iginla is my personal favorite. He to me, is not just a great player, but a superb ambassador to the game, a great interview and a guy who shows more class than anyone in the game imo. He reminds me of a more skilled Linden whom i also respect alot.
If we're going all time, Guy Lafleur. Grew up idolizing that guy! |

I'm liking the Iginla comparison, what about being compared to a guy like Maurice Richard? I think they are almost identical players. |

Had to go with Getzlaf, I just love the way he plays the game. Its braun and finesse all rolled into one. All time favourite has to be Wendel Clark. |

Axey, Richards a little before my time, but i did grow up in a pro Montreal household so did hear a ton about him. Def be a good comparison!
Baumer, Getzlaf's a stud! Anyone who wouldn't want this guy on their team doesn't know a thing about hockey! He's def the complete package. I look forward to cheering FOR him for a change come the Olympics.
BTW, who was it that called Douglas Murray a goon? Am i missing something? I've never paid all that much attention to him but i never thought he was a tough guy let alone, a goon? |

Current : Jarome Iginla, Martin Brodeur
And then Ryan Smyth and Sidney Crosby. I also really like Jonathan Toews, Zach Parise, Ryan Getzlaf and Alexander Ovechkin. And Jordan Eberle is becoming a hero to our nation at such a young age.
All time : Wayne Gretzky, Doug Gilmour, Felix Potvin, Peter Forsberg, Wendel Clark and many many more...

WOW Irv....Heatley? i commend you! Most seem to hate this guy after the car accident and the trade demands! I personally like like him but he's not my fav. I know most Canadians will be cheering for him in a couple weeks! |

Accidents happen. If he were a menace, whom meant to kill his good friend. I'd think otherwise. But at the end of the day, I imagine he feels pretty s***ty about what had happened, and wishes every day he could go back in time.
As for demanding the trade, even as a Senators fan... Let's face it. Hockey is their career. If I were unhappy at my job, i'd want out too.

There is a million rumours about why Heatley demanded a trade out of Ottawa (I live there), and absolutely none of them involve him being unhappy with the team/coach. Basically it was believed to be off-ice personal stuff, if one believes the gossip. Regardless, I'm a big fan of Zach Parise and if I'm paying to watch an NHL game then Ovechkin is probably the one player that provides the most entertainment. So they are the two that stand out for me at the moment. |

Useless? ......I......Don't........know......what......to....say.....ok, lets see, plays every night as hard as he can, not afraid to get dirty, scores timely goals (always), one of those leaders that will never get the letter, I'm pretty sure Edmonton is still slapping themselves for letting him go (?), Maybe not the most skilled, but a very important piece to any team..........Sounds pretty usless to me! |

I play beer league hockey in Chris Neils home town. His brother plays on one of the teams and the rumour flying around there was Heatley is the father of Neil's second born. Again, its just a rumour but it started before Heatley asked for the trade and its still a pretty big topic. |
