According to the Toronto Sun, a deal is in the works to send Cody Franson to the Oilers for either Linus Omark or Sam Gagner. Sounds good to me. Think we need some work done on the blue line, and Omark and Gagner, as promising as they seemed in the past, seem to have somewhat less potential now than Franson. A deal for Omark would apparently include a draft pick towards the Leafs.
The Oil WILL make the playoffs in 2012.

with Komisarek out for 8 weeks with a broken arm, I don't think that trade is very likely in the near future. |

The trade is possible because they can bring Aulie back up. Hopefully he can perform like he did at the end of the season. If this trade goes then I think I would like Gagne over Omark but not sure where they would slot Gagne in at this point. I really wish the Leafs would no give up on Franson because I think is better then what he has showed and the Leafs just are not giving him the shot. |

I'm sure the oilers would trade gagner or omark because their trade value is at a all time high.

All time high? In what? Gagner has been injured and has spent his healthy time on the third line and Omark is on the farm. How is that an all time high trade value?
A trade of Omark for Franson would Be an absolute steal for the Oilers. Franson for Gagner today would be pretty fair but I think the Oilers would win that deal in the long run. Both Omark and Gagner are potential top 6 forwards on a team full of top 6 forwards. They are both the odd man out. |

When isn't there a trade rumor buzzing around Toronto? most of the time that's what they turn out to be, rumors. With the leafs trouble finding the net, except for last night's 7-1 pounding of Washington, what they need is a player who can make an immediate impact, not someone who could pan out in the future |

Quick somebody twitter Burke!!!!
As much as I like Gagner getting Franson would be a great addition to our D right now!! I hope this is true, however I can't believe the Leafs would make this deal.... |

Cite the source for the intial rumour?
I see this as extremely unlikely, especially so with the injuries Toronto now has on D. And I don't see a push for Gagner anymore . . . what does Toronto need another small center for?
I give this a less than 1% chance.

The inital poster stated it was in the Toronto Sun. I did not see it personally but I trust people can read so I take it at face value. Gagner has been speculation of being trade bait in Edmonton for some time and the rumor I heard was Gagner for Franson but since Komisarek is gone for 8 weeks the deal is off the table. I've also heard Stan Bowman in Chicago is interested in Gagner. Gagner played with Kane for the London Knights so there is chemistry from the past. Gagner is not a total bag of pucks but he is a below average defensive players who is on a team full of 2nd line players. He is the odd man out and needs a change of scenery. He can be a 50+ point guy but not in this environment.
However, I think it's a stretch to get Gagner for Franson. That's just not an equitable trade. |

You can probably take Omark off the table - Just read on the ticker on The Score that he broke his ankle in a game in OKC |

I was reading online today that the Hawks might have a slight interest in Gagner, stating that the Oilers could use a bigger forward, someone like Viktor Stalkberg or Bryan Bickell.
